I'm Brian Smith and I own and direct Technical & Business Editing Limited.
I don't employ staff, but I collaborate with independent contractors when their skills are needed for a particular job.
Skills & experience
My key skills are writing & editing, research, mathematical modelling, and analysis.
Most of my career has been spent in telecommunications, but I also have experience teaching English and working with
Japanese, Indonesian, Latino, and other cultures.
I’ve edited academic papers on a wide variety of technical subjects.
I've also written and edited documents for businesses and government agencies covering such diverse fields as

• accident insurance
• DNA laboratory management
• meteorological forecasting

• architecture

Associate: Stu Allan
Stu Allan is the owner of Active Voice New Zealand Limited.
He undertakes a variety of writing and editing work, including biographical articles, safety and instruction manuals,
website content, and website evaluation.
Stu's formal qualifications are:
• BA (English)
• MA (Linguistics)
• Graduate Diploma in Information Design
• Diploma in Teaching
Stu is also a qualified outdoor safety auditor and has long experience in outdoor education and leading large, not-for-profit
organisations.
